 | Kathryn represented MNST at Junior Nationals in Soldier Hollow March 4-10. After a series of 6 qualifying races held in January & February, Kathryn was named to the Intermountain Division's Junior National Nordic Ski Team, made up of J2 , J1 & OJ (ages 14 - 19) skiers from Idaho, Utah, Montana & western Wyoming. Kathryn was part of the Intermountain Team's 9 member J2 female contingent. Teams from 10 divisions across the country, Alaska to New England, totaling almost 400 racers and representing the nation's top Junior skiers, traveled to Soldier Hollow - the site of the 2002 Olympics - for the week of competition.
After four days of racing, which included a free style sprint, freestyle distance, classic distance and a 3x3K classic relay, the Intermountain Team had clearly established its depth and easily won the team competition. As a group the Intermountain's J2 girls were exceptional; all 9 of the Intermountain's J2 girls qualified in the top 24 of the sprint race and all three of the Intermountain's J2 girls relay teams finished in the top 6. |
