McCall Nordic Skiers Race at Bogus Basin

The final race to determine the Intermountain Division's Junior National team was held at Bogus Basin 2/13-14.  Freestyle races were held on Saturday with classic technique races on Sunday.  The McCall Nordic Ski Team had five skiers computing at the Bogus Basin Junior qualifier.   Gerrit Egnew and Danny Kaiser, racing in the J2 men's division, skied in the 5k freestyle and classic races.  First year coach Leslie Martin noted that "While neither Gerrit or Danny made the Junior National team this year, both were strong competitors and Gerrit was in contention right up to the last race. Both racers improved tremendously over the course of the season and are already looking toward next year." Kellen Crawford raced in the J3 men's 3K division, snagging a 2nd place in the classic race and  4th in the skate race.  Kiana Chapman and Nate Yokestetter, both first year skiers with the team, skied in their first Nordic competition in Saturday's 3k skate race.
